I just think its funny how SocomIV.com goes public with the video leak from Comic-Con, and 3 hours later IGN and Zipper are providing official announcements.
Good job staff. We were all over that one!

We should hold a Socom party and then keep delaying it to celebrate this special occasion!

Talk about a sweet & sour, up and down day! Thanks for the banner guys, it's an awesome thing to do. As far as the delay news goes, I literally feel like someone kicked me in the dick. Wargo? I may have to call off work for the next couple of days and start drinkin right now. first of all, happy bday (saw you post this on socom.com), second of all I know your pain man. Crappy news on you Bday I must say. Lucky for me, I don't have to work tomorrow, which means I'll be going to get a beer in about 5 minutes and I probably won't stop until monday morning around 7am.

I'm upset and relieved at the same time. I am happy they learned from the disaster of Confrontation. I bet they will have a beta sometime this year to help the community chill for a bit.

anyone know what the delayed portion of development might be? sp, mp, maps, modes, servers, all of the above? seems like with mag out they would have had a good handle on the servers.
is map production holding this back? if a beta of mp came out would it be a "complete" game with limited maps?

You know the problem with all of this is that we've seen it before. They put their heart and soul into giving the customer a real quality and good game. After it's released there are millions of bugs and glitches. Now they delay the release of this game to make sure we have a good, quality game. Guess what the results will be.

I think SONY wanted to push this along to be with the Move and Zipper saw where it was and put their foot down and said we are not rushing this. They want to get it right and up to their standards, not SONY's. Their relationship is long and successful so I don't doubt they got what they wanted because it makes sense. Now they can finish it to their intentions. Maybe features they may of had to cut from being pushed out quicker. (Not saying community requests but their own internal wants as I don't think they will listen too much). Whether that fits in the needs of anyone that is a fan is another thing. As much as it would be fun to play a new Socom again soon, I can live waiting again. Not like I don't have shit to do. It actually will be nice. I end my season earlier this year for coaching with a new season format. Should be out when I am done. Less of a hassle to game.

More than likely for PSN Plus members.

Sony owned title Beta Possibility PSN Plus Promised Exclusive Beta Invitations I just don't see how Sony can pass up something like this..

Exactly betas ton'd get released everyday, probably less than 50% of games have public and private beta.

Since they are using a MAG engine, and set a Guiness Worlds Record with server capabilities, Zipper doesn't technically NEED to do a server stress test in the form of a beta. But considering the state of the fanbase at this point, I think they would be dumb not to. Zipper needs to do a beat, but maybe for just different reasons.

I'm just going off the fact that PSN Plus promised us exclusive betas, Socom 4 is delayed, Roper has said there is a "possibility", and Socom 4 is a Sony owned title. That's all i'm saying. I'm not trying to justify if we do or don't need one, i'm just sayin

Well a beta could be handy just to test out the user friendlyness, bugs, glitches.
