I chose the third option since I would like the see the SEALs have them as well, but I don't care if it's the old way. They need to come back though.

Mines and Claymores serve different tasks.
I'm for both SEALs and Mercs.

Why would seals and terrorist have PMNs? Seals already claymores and it was that disbalance that made SOCOM great. You guys piss me off sometimes hahahha

It should be part of Socom, creates a more Tactical approach to the game. I would rather have these blow me up than 1000 propane tanks, cars and barrells all over the map.

This is a very interesting topic. I voted YES. I'd like to see claymores fro SEALS & PMN's for mercs.
A little off-topic but I wouldn't mind if the mercs had IEDs either. Lay a pipe bomb down and pull your cell phone out to detonate. lol Kind of the same thing as a claymore I suppose.

That is crazy paul. I'd rather deal with a dude shooting at me and blowing something up...than just walking by myself and getting blown up.
I've never played with them ofcourse...so i don't know how it is to play with them...but i imagine my self spamming the crap out of them.

See you missed out hahahah When you play with PMNs you adapt this notion of knowing where they are placed, Around doors, grass, Entrances, Windows etc.. etc... Its another one of those elements you think about which is awesome. I remember sneaking around PMNs, stealing hostages and then running them over theri PMNs, ending up winning the round/map ahhahahaha AWESOME!

It seperates the Noobs "Casual Gamers" from the guys who know and play Socom everyday. I knew just about every sneaky hidey spot people would place mines at. What is great about them is coming up with creative spots to plant hoping to stop a bomb plant or an extraction. I do agree with when you die they should dis engage. You could always tell a Noob to Socom because he would be one the first ones to die by a mine. But remember they also are bad in a sense because I used to rack up some Team kills using them, communication is big when using mines.

But remember they also are bad in a sense because I used to rack up some Team kills using them, communication is big when using mines. I think that's very important. Now the only reason people use the mic anymore is to blare music or yell at you for messing up. And I don't think they should disengage when you die, because that just gives the mine-planter more incentive to camp. I personally used to cover our base with mines and then run out and fight (and most of the time, die).

Remember in THE RUINS in terrorist BOMB SITE, how you would pant it at that half wall so when Seals come and jump over to plant the bomb they would BLOW UP! Simply awesome.

You guys piss me off sometimes hahahha S1 didn't have PMN mines and it made the game play quicker than S2 IMO. I didn't have to creep around looking for those damn mines on the ground, I could just run and gun.

For example being outnumbered on Chain Reaction Place PMN mines and with each kill your smile gets bigger and bigger and turning from a situation to a good one to give you a chance. But with good clans this wasn't as easy at it sounds.

What always got me with mines before is a person could carry 3 of them at a time. That seems a little unrealistic to me that a person could carry around 3 of them, and also deploy them in a matter of seconds.
I think there should be a max of 2 per person and when you go to lay them down, there is a progress meter like when you are planting the bomb.
