This one is easy, main rule. Online/Balance extremely important.

This one is easy, main rule. Online/Balance extremely important. Its also easier to program, just set 1 value for each part of the body, rather than 1 value for each part of the body per type of armor.

I hate shooting one guy 3 times and another guy 6 times. I want to know that when I hit a guy 3 times that he should be dead.

I didn't really care about the armor. Everyone made such a big deal about it. As long as it is balanced with mobility, It shouldn't be a problem.
I had no problem killing the heavy armored people because I could always move faster than them. I would just like to see the hit boxes be the same. Like the seals mega armor had a 50 lb rucksack on his back, but the terrorist heavy armor was just a thin part.
Since there is no vote for "I really don't care one way or the other" i didn't vote. Like I said, if you want extra protection, you can keep your slow ass at the back of the bus while I run around you so fast you can't keep up.

Body Armor is so incredibly shitty for this series. It pissed me off more than anything else in Confrontation. There was a time where everyone was heavy armor bitches so I tried running with it and I just hated the lack of movement... It just sucks, keep it like it always was in S1 through S3.

A HUGE glitch called "armor stacking" hit Confrontation in their early days.
Basically when the game first came out, every time you "switched" body armor, it would just double, triple, or quadruple the armor you were wearing.
After you "Stacked" this armor 10-15 times, your character would start turning this "blue tint". The worse part of this exploit, was that your character wasn't 10x slower. He would maintain the same speed as if only ONE armor was being worn.
Some players were aware of what was taking place, others were clueless that had 5 body armors and thought they were just "beasts". Completely clueless they had WAY more health than any of their competition.
You know what I think? I think it was one of the BIGGEST problems that were "swept under the rug" that not many people knew about.
People have "claimed" it was patched and you can no longer recreate that glitch.
But did the patch UNDO the guys who were already "stacked"?
I seriously question this. I have a theory that there are some older profiles out there that are still stacked, that were created within the first few months of launch.
Call it lag, call it a bad server room, but I see people take bullets on that game at times that baffle me. And I don't seem to see any "lag" in the room when it happens.
Part of me still thinks there are people running around with double & triple armor on Confrontation. Or maybe, it's just my imagination.........

Slant 6 also never publicly addressed its existence I don't believe either... they just said they saw no such glitch.

Oh they knew it existed......people submitted the exploit for their review as soon as it went public to fanbase. (Cheaters are getting sneakier. They try to keep glitches on the down low these days so it never gets fixed.) It's also kinda hard to ignore the links provided to 5+ well known glitching sites and 4+ YouTube vids, and COUNTLESS photos of the "blue villians". Most have which turned "private" to view or have been removed or taken down. Hard to find them anymore actually. I ran across these two still available. (which I downloaded to my hard drive in case they get removed later.) I ran across 2 images in a google search of "socom confrontation armor glitch". The images show up on the search, but the direct link to view them have been removed. (page 1, row 3) (page 5, row 1 & 3) From what I understand, if you "over stacked" your armor, you started to glow blue. But if you weren't greedy, you could get away 4-6 stacks without changing color.

Didn't this happen the other day when i was with you. You died after you shot a guy with light armor 6 times when you died in 2.

I think that was just lag because HTK was host. I was noticing deaths register 3-5 seconds later.
I think that was all lag my friend and nothing more. Confrontation has been a bit laggy this month in general.
I've seen people take 6-8 just from me. Then take 4-6 more from a teammate. Then take another 1-2 before they kill their third victim and finally die.
And you see their dead body has "light" armor and the room is lag free.
Then that same guy jumps in the lobby and talks smack, unaware he just sponged 12-15 rounds. LOL, but killed out light armor in 1-2 rounds each with no headshots.

Ya that's true. I've noticed some games that I've eating lots of lead but never died where the enemy dies in a few. Got to love the inconsistency with armor.

Well, armor stacking did exist at one point in time. If it still exist around the patch in some form is up to debate. And sometimes, maybe there is lag in a room without any "visual" evidence. I usually judge lag in a room by the following: How long does it take to join the lobby of the room. The longer it takes for that "yes/no" box to load usually is a quick indicator of the "ping" of that room. Are the mics laggy, choppy, or freezing up? Once everyone "greens up", how long does that cookie spin before the first round loads? Once the first round loads, how long does it take for the HD textures to load up and map themselves to my character? How's the character animation at first? (frame rate load) When I kill someone or get killed, how long does it take for the text to display on the screen? What took place when I died? How many times does my character die completely behind cover and around a corner? Obviously, the enemy shot me while I was out in the open, but on MY screen, the sound effects and bullets hitting me don't register until way later. It gives the "appearance" that I was shot through rather thick walls, but I know that's not possible. I think lag can do lot's of funny things to a room. That's why public betas are so great. You get to see some of the best Socom players in the franchise push the limits of the game mechanics in a multiplayer setting. LOL, armor->lag->PUBLIC BETA. Wow, LUKENBACHER. You can shut up now!

didn't they use to have ping "color" next to each room to show how laggy the room was in the older Socoms.

If there is armor there should be two options: One, and none. If you choose armor it takes up a slot in your gear inventory. The armor itself would only protect the torso (vest area) and absorb/decrease damage for up to two pistol rounds and one rifle round. 7.62x51 rounds and larger would not be effected.

I feel there should be body armor and no body armor. 2 choices only and obviously body armor slows you down. I dont see the problem with body armor, there is a negative side to it (going slow) so it doesnt bother me when people use it.
btw, I use light/light on confrontation, I like speed, but dont mind other slow people

I'd have to say no to having Body Armor in Socom 4. I personally used light armor in S:CON just so I could be somewhat faster but it left me at a huge disadvantage compared to heavy armor users running around with machine guns.
I'd like to see a level playing field again.

Body armor,.. No way they can keep that out of the game. Let me be naked & free as a bird. I mean that in a good way.

No body armor. All players should be on an equal footing concerning damage.
