forums.socom.com/t5/SOCOM-4/Dear-SOCOM-Community/td-p/766883Hey guys, (***Warning... lots of words lol***) You all may not know me but I frequent these forums as many of you do. I love this franchise and I know you all do in different ways. There is a serious issue that gets overlooked and I feel needs to have a strong fight for regrouping, if you will. What I am talking about is, this community's tolerance for certain gameplay actions during a SOCOM game. This applies to both Confrontation and our up and coming SOCOM 4. Allow me to clarify, remember on SOCOM 1 and 2 when a guy came in a room and glitched or used a noob tube (M203), they got the vote to kick instantly. I don't know where our lack of unity went as a community but there used to be known rules for the game. Back in the S2 days a FAMAS user or then the IW user would get warned and possibly voted. We need to set aside differences on these forums and just come up with what is acceptable and unacceptable. If someone is disrupting the flow of the game (camping, water camping) they need to be told to stop or get voted. If someone is glitching they need to get voted. Of course I know some people will say, "if they gave us rockets I am using rockets". I am not saying we need to ban weapons but we need at least some basic unified ground rules when S4 releases. It is for the better of the game people! We need to do a better job policing ourselves. -War

Remember when the thermal was actually pointless to use in day maps?

I gave you some kudos. Who's your Daddy? And what does he do? lol and thanks man... we need a little unity I was hoping maybe I can put this in at least the forums head that we need to band together and make our game experience better for ourselves. I see it on MAG sometimes so there is definitely hope.

Are you talking about the Moral Codes??
I miss the day that people use to say good game and voted out cheaters.
IMO socom 2 had the best moral codes. I didn't play socom 1 as much so i cant judge for that communities moral code.
Each game steadily worse from the community aspect of moral codes.

See, and that pissed me off about the IW.
Guns don't get the kills, Skills get the kills. My favorite weapons on Socom 2 were the 552-sd and the M4-SD. Gotta be suppressed.
But one day I pulled out the IW, and people bitched a fit. Calling me a noob and whatever. Telling me to put it up or get voted. Fuck them. Who are they to tell me I can't use a weapon in a game I payed for. If I was in a good mood, I would just change back to my M4, and get twice as many kills in each round. If I was in a bad mood, I would shove my IW up my team mates asses and kill them all before they left the spawn.
Weapons are in the game. They have strengths and weaknesses. If you can't overcome a weapon, that is your fault. Now for the Rockets and Grenade launchers, They are just unnecessary and seriously detract from the game.

Although, in all honesty, I think it has more to do with the newer generation playing in comparison to the old generation. And it isn't just in Socom too. It is in every shooter. You piss off one retarded 12 year old, you piss them all off. It is just the way we were all raised. Maybe it is our fault. But when I was raised, I was taught to respect everyone playing the game. Be it checkers, chess, bowling, or video games. Everyone put in a good effort, and you want to be respectful to others. Especially when you are winning. No one wins all the time. You want people to be respectful to you when they are dominating over you.
This newer generation didn't have anyone teaching them this. Just a bunch of 5 year olds playing COD4, shooting people then t-bagging them. People just don't have any respect any more.
More and more I flip through the channels of my TV, or play with a bunch of randoms and all I can think is; "God, I can't wait for the end of the human race. " Darwin's theory of evolution working in reverse. Retards breeding retards.

I think the disrespectful gaming stemmed from HALO... that is when I first saw that although on S2 people did hump because you can go from prone to stand really quick. As for the guns, I realized after seeing all the replies that I was not clear. I don't think we should ban guns but we should police abuse of certain weapons. A prime example was on S2 when in Nightstalker the GL and 203 fest that made games suck during the first 10 seconds because you can launch that from spawn to spawn almost. If you are going to use a GL don't be a cheap bitch about it, keep it fun and competitive. I understand people won't agree with that but...

Because in order to play Socom 2 and so forth it required more of a want to play on-line than it does now a days. Kids get a PS3 for Christmas and it takes no effort to connect on-line and start playing COD. The idea of honor is gone due to the world being able to play Socom all at once. I had to go out spend 100 dollars on an adapter, it took me for ever to figure it out and get on-line. Then I had to upgrade my Internet to cable. Plus, back then I think they may have actually tried to card under age video game buyers because the CD wars were going on. What I am getting at is more people who played Socom back then had the desire and love for the game to go thru all of this to play on-line. And I do see alot of people stating on Socom.com they played Socom 2 at age 8 thru 11 years old, to be honest I never ran into anyone that I can remember was that young. The Socom world used to be Adult driven and the Socom code was there due to Maturity. Immature gamers have taken over Socom due to no UCRR's and the PS3 is easy to jump on and play on-line instantly. I believe the Code is gone in public rooms, that's why UCRR's were important. The Code is there in your room.
