What is sometimes a curse of the Socom series and one of its more interesting gameplay aspects is that an game can potentially be as long as 30 or 40 minutes. Some of us older folk sometimes do not have the luxury to sit in front of a PlayStation for 5 hours straight, and most of us probably are not too good at telling our wives "Just 5 more mins hun, this is the last round I swear" when you need to head out the door to dinner. Then those bastards end up camping in the water for the entire round :-( Quitting in Socom has always carried with it some harsh penalties that greatly effect your rank / rating. This is put in place to stop people from just simply leaving the game when they are losing. But there are those occasions when you simply need to just leave the game. Why not give players 2 or 3 free "quits" per 20 games or so? This would not encourage people to quit more often as you only get a very limited number of free quits, but would definitely come in handy when the wife is throwing stuff at you? Of course, I know the other solution to this problem is to not care about rank or rating Thoughts?

intersting idea but i doubt any game will ever have anything like this. Then you have to think about the people that leave on round 1 cuz they died in the first 10 seconds and think "I have 2 free quits left today."

If you are too concerned with video game stats, then maybe you need to find another hobby.
It is just a game.
