Alright, not sure why the "LARGE" map/s stirred the pot in the message boards, but I couldn't wait till the next podcast to shed some light on this discussion. Back when SOCOM 4 was announced, people were asking Zipper or the Community Managers is the game 8v8 or 16v16 and if large maps will have Smaller Version of them. The simple answer was "NO" Large maps will not have smaller versions of them. But, they also mentioned. Not all maps are LARGE maps! SOCOM 4 will have Small, Medium and Large maps. There will be different sizes of maps, and Large maps will not have smaller versions of them. So all the maps will stay true to their design and won't be compromised by being tweeked for 8v8 and 16v16. Small, Medium and Large maps are all designed with 16 and 32 players in mind. You will not BOOT UP SOCOM 4 and find all MAPS to be large and you will not find smaller versions of the large maps. This has already been confirmed. You will get a taste of all kinds of maps from small to medium to large in their true design without changing anything fro 8v8 or 16v16. Hope that cleared everything up a bit.

And on top of that can we really trust the perception of one person that one map is the same size as another map? Before Confrontation came out the general statement of SC's biggest maps will be no larger the S3's smallest was made. I don't know about you but Fault is a lot smaller then many of SC maps.
It was such a general non specific statement that i took it as pretty worthless of mentioning... all it did was create lame speculation.

S3 & CA 16v16 or not the big maps did not work, even with the vehicles. That being said on the podcast they mentioned that the scale(on some maps) is very similar to s3 large Maps and with no vehicles to get around this seems that players will be once again either running around these huge maps looking for people or watching from the dead till the time in round runs out with countless draws. YaY(sarcasm) now I know they didn't say this was specific to the MP but if it is I'm disappointed again.

For example, if 1/3 of the map can't be accessed due to high clifs, building that you can't enter then it drops the actual size. So many variables that don't scream this is a bad thing. I highly doubt you will be running and walking a mile to get to different sections of the map.

I doubt he even knows how far 50 meters is in his own game right now.
