Your hands upon A deadman's gun and you're Looking down the sights
Your heart is worn, And the seams are torn And they've given you reason to fight
Our fanbase is worn out, and our seams are torn after years of struggling with our passion for Socom. The ups, the downs, and the expectations we all hold dear. And yes, Zipper has given us a reason to fight. We are getting a new Socom, and most of our clan legacies can't survive another failure.
And you're not gonna take what they've got to give And you not gonna let them take your will to live Because they've taken enough and you've given them all you can give And luck won't save them tonight They've given you reason to fight
The above verse hits the nail right on the head with our fanbase's struggle. Most of us agree, this is the last Socom we have the patience to fight for. And the "final push" from our fanbase will surely be the biggest "fight" we've ever seen.
And all the storms you've been chasing About to rain down tonight And all the pain you've been facin' About to comin' to the light
We've been chasing the "Socom storm" for quite some time my fellow fans. And its all about to rain down with the release of Socom 4. Zipper, Sony, the rowdy Socom fanbase, and even Slant 6 have all felt pain from this series throughout the years. And the last crusade for Socom is about to come into the light later this year.
Will it fail us for the last time, or will it pave the way for our kids to enjoy the greatest team oriented shooter ever created?
Rest assured, the Socast crew and the SocomIV.com staff will be there every step of the way. We will celebrate together, or we may all share the same disappointment together. Either way, our journey to the unknown is right around the corner...
Now.....watch the video...

I think we'd be better off coming up with a sort of mission statement of the kind of "SOCOM like" game that we want. Gather support for that from gamers of all shooters, not just SOCOM, and then put that out there for all developers to consider.
If were going to try to fight for any sort of game that we want that's what I feel we need to do. It'd be kind of like how people are pushing for an S2 HD except the scale of it could be much larger. The demand wouldn't be so SOCOM specific so more support would be easier to gather and the publisher wouldn't be limited to just Sony either so that would help to.
Right now what we are doing is fishing for one specific type of fish (Sony/Zipper/SOCOM) with only one specific type of lure (hardcore SOCOM fans) and the fish we want just isn't biting. We need more lures and need to be willing to catch other fish.

It seems that Socom, as it's our main concern, is only the tip of the iceberg.

It's all up to our fanbase.
The more Socom websites we have, the more podcasts we can listen to, the more exposure Socom 4 can get, the better.
Voice your opinions, and get your friends/clanmates involved. We may not have this opportunity after Socom 4.
I'm just starting to see more frustration than "passion" right now in the community. I feel as though some of the fanbase has already given up.
SocomIV.com has NOT given up yet. And we will adamantly fight tooth and nail when the time comes. Right now, multiplayer is still on the down low, and we are all nervous as hell waiting for the reveal.
At this point in time, we should see the BIGGEST push our fanbase can possibly muster up to be fighting for the Socom we want.
Our fanbase needs to gather a "second wind" and rally for the home stretch here.
Hopefully, the new episode of Socast can help get this motivation started. Our staff was not pleased with some of the announcements on the lastest Zipline, and we will address it on the show.
But we are merely a small handful of Socom nerds who get on Skype once a week. We need the entire fanbase to stand up and put their passion on the table for Zipper to see.
If there's anything the SocomIV.com staff can do to aide any of you out there, just let us know.

first post here...i disagree with the lack of passion in the community. the fact that there is even a site like this, how many years after socom was actually great(i.e. socom 2) is a testament to the passion in the community. the lack of passion is in zipper/sony who have failed to provide what we want.
they want an "all new experience". maybe that makes sense from a business side of things to bring in the casual players, but why can't they also give us the things we want? would it hurt the "new experience"?

im just glad for a site like this of people that share similar views as i. ive been playing ca this week on ps2 and have had more fun this week than i have in a long time and felt some amazing things like socom use to do, and still does. and the "socom anger" is a totally diff anger than any other game, but i still love it. i dont know any of you and have never played with you but i have been plkaying since s1 and see and recognize yalls passion for the way it was and should be. keep up the good work and hope to join a socast sometime. it is much more fun to read these forums than the socom.com forums just based on the responses. love you guys and gals and a fellow s2 socomer and look forward to playing with yall on s4, no matter the final product

Just hit us up with a Skype invite and we'll see what we can work out. And regarding the quality of our boards..... it's amazing what happens when you take "kudos" out of the equation, and there's no "censorship" based on kids constantly flaming and reporting threads. I don't think our staff has had to delete ONE single post that wasn't one of our own.
