Nope, they said there would be some water but only like the waste high type that was in Socom II. No more water camping! With that, I wonder if they will still have the bomb respawning like in Confrontation or if it will go back to the old way.

Stupid. There were plenty of designs choices they could of implemented to stop water camping. Not having swimming at all just limits map designs, just like not having jump climb. I'm sick of all these announced not haves.
Plus I want a map where a secondary objective is to blow up a dam. When it breaks anybody water camping behind the dam in the water gets washed away and killed in the ensuing flood along with killing people that are down stream.

Now that is a nice idea. That would bring more dramatics to the maps. Like having to demolish a entire building with planted explosives, or collapse an access tunnel like on Urban Waste Land but have it be a highway tunnel instead. My opinion on not swimming is, have it but include sharks, alligators, and equipment that can detect where you are. Something along that line. Because if you remember on Combined Assault the various swamp stages, there should have wildlife.

No biggie about swimming and I'm glad the reloading is faster. Of course anybody who watched the vids would've known that already.

They also said there would be no night vision which is kind of a head scratcher to me. There has always been NV in Socom. Does that mean no more night maps? Will that mean there's no more thermal scopes? I don't know what that direction is all about.

Specter was crying about no swimming haahahah Hahaha to you to buddy. I for one like swimming, and that's my opinion. If you don't like swimming, that's your opinion. But I guess it's too late anyways to do anything about it since the maps are already designed without it.

Wow you guys need to relies that it possible to have swimming and not have water camping. Hell they aren't even talking about the MP yet what could be the downside to having swimming in the SP? And with MP the solution could be a simple as limiting the swimming area to small areas instead of an entire lake. They could add force behind moving water... I mean there literally hundreds of ideas. Flex that muscle called a brain every once in a while people.

- Make the bomb reset if you jump in the water with it

Anyways I'm pretty sure that in the podcast he was addressing a question about swimming in MP and not SP.

I do agree that it might have been the "lazy" way to go in order to eliminate "water camping". To me, this HAS to be the only reason they didn't decide to implement this. I mean, come on folks, the game has Navy Seals in the title. That would be like taking bikes out of the game "paper boy". Ya water camping was annoying and ruined some great games, but I'm sure there are ways in which they could have eliminated this and still had swimming.
Not having swimming isn't going to be a make or break, so to me it's neither nor there. I'm not necessarily glad there isn't any swimming, but I am glad there won't be water camping. Hopefully by Zipper not putting swimming into the equation another aspect of the game we want will be there.

In regards to no swimming, I am happy.
There were thousands of ways to get swimming implemented incorrectly, and only one way to do it right.
I am happy they took the easy way out.

And sense you know, why haven't you told zipper?
