I have 59,942 characters remaining..i hope that is enough.
I'm all for building a map around one mode. But i'm against that one mode being the only mode.
Xroads is fun as hell as a demo map. But suppression/elim works. Well Xroads isn't designed for extraction but i sure do love that combo.
FF is fun as an elim/supp map. But FF demo is a blast. Hell even FF control points has it's moments.
IMO i think if a game mode other than the one the map is designed around is playable...then why not have it as an option.

Each map should be built specifically for Demo, Escort, Extract, Arms Run, or Breach.
Then as an options, those maps can also be played as suppression, elimination, or control points.
Why build a map specifically for suppression? Seems like a waste for me.

My thoughts are stuff like demo and extraction revolves around one or 3 centralized objectives, if it be the bomb or hostages or nuke launchers. The ebb and flow of these assets and where they are on the map and how players gain control or access to them should dictate the map design. My feelings are it would be rather difficult to simply take a bomb and find a place to put it in a well designed extraction map and have everything still work WITHOUT doing the symmetrical map design.

I like being able to play other game types on maps, but ultimately the maps should be designed with one mode in mind first.

I agree with you, the only thing is I am going to hate when that crappy demo map that was really designed for escort keeps popping up in the medley :-) Yea hopefully they take steps to prevent having to play terrible combos such as UCRRs...but for medley offer up a Vote to Skip Map feature.
