Well now that it's been confirmed that S4 will be 3 D compatable is anyone going to go the extra mile and buy a new TV? Does anyone in our community already have one? I am interested in some 3D reviews from anyone who has been there and done that.

I haven't played any shooters yet, but Motorstorm is pretty f'n sweet in 3D TV prices aren't too bad on them, but they will come down this holiday and probably even more before S4 is released.

My boi Fred-E-Fuego www.youtube.com/fredefuego has a 3D TV and has played several games & demo's that are in 3D. He finds some games really take advantage of it while others fall a bit short of the WoW factor.

Just got done talking to my son who works at Best Buy and he says there are going to be some huge discounts on all types of TV's this holiday season. He said it should be the best bargains that they have had in the last 5 years or so. I might pick up a 3D Tv if I can get a good one in the $1200 to $1500 range.

I wouldn't buy an hd tv yet because I have a feeling they will be able to make them without the classes kinda like the nintendo ds 3d. But I have played the ps3 in 3d and it is cool but I don't know how it will be for shooting games

We have a Socom4 3D topic going on at the CTU site. Here is one of my comments in that thread.... ______________________ My report on seeing a 3D Sony HDTV..... Meh!
Stopped at a Sony Store to experience a 3D HDTV.... pass on that one!
Sony gave up on plasma TVs because they couldn't make a good one... that's what I gleaned from the sales guy by his sales pitch... between the lines. All Sony has is their fancy LCD sets of various kinds... big and small, 3D and no 3D... and they can't hold a candle next to my Samsung Plasma!!
Without the special 3D glasses... 3D looks like shit. So if you invite friends over for a good 3D movie... make sure you have enough 3D glasses to go around... and they ain't cheap! And the glasses are big and heavy. After 10 minutes of wearing them... it was time to ditch them!! What a joke! And if your guests get dizzy easily... you will need to provide barf buckets also.
Sure... for those 10 minutes, I watched a 3D football game. It was different. But not different enough when I looked at the sticker price of the TV... $3,999. I didn't take one home! Setting through a movie or playing Socom4 for 4 hours with those special glasses, will be painful and it won't happen for a long while for me. Even the Sony sales guy convinced me, quietly, that 3D is a gimmick now with no standard and I'm sure this guy will be looking for a new job soon!
I mentioned to the sales guy that Samsung is developing a Plasma and LED 3D sets that no 3D glasses will be needed that were going to be released this Christmas... but this guy gave me the pitch that Samsung is crap and Sony is better... blah, blah, blah. It does look like Samsung isn't ready to sell these for awhile now. news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-10423735-264.html
Conclusion... I won't be buying a 3D TV and where those damn glasses for the near future... or years! Sony and Zipper are wasting their time converting Socom4 (a game) to 3D. What a bunch of morons. They missed the Christmas rush... again! And Socom4 could face other games in the Spring that could bury it for good! Like Killzone3... another Sony game that could kill Socom4... also a Sony game!

It will be 4 or 5 years at the earliest before those sets become affordable.

Jackass 3D was pretty awesome. The whole time I watched, i couldn't help but wonder what SOCOM 4 would be if the 3D was done as well as modern day movies.
But for $2000+, I think I'll pass.
I can wear the 3D glasses all day no prob, and I have yet to get dizzy or nauseous.
If a 3D TV offered a 40" screen for under $1700, I'd pick one up today. But I ain't gonna see that anytime soon. Maybe a 30" at Xmas if I'm lucky lol.

That's because usually movies aren't made in 3D even though they're released that way.
